The Peters Lab is in the University of Oxford Department of Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics

Our lab is interested in understanding how neural activity drives behavior. Specifically, we focus on the cortex-basal ganglia-thalamus circuit, and we investigate how activity flows through these structures and changes during learning.

Our research combines simple learned behaviors in mice with methods to record and manipulate neural activity. Our goal is to uncover fundamental principles about about how brain activity is transformed into movement.
